Cardiac Cath Lab is currently seeking a Materials Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary team. The primary responsibility and accountability of the position is to coordinate the Cath/EP Labs supply chain. This position will report directly to the Clinical Leader Manager, HLV Program.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Materials Equipment Coordinator consults, collaborates and works with the Clinical Leader Manager and external and internal stakeholders to ensure equipment and supplies are regularly available and in working order, including:
- Maintains inventory of special order supplies and order them as needed,
- Maintaining ordering of equipment;
- Performing preventative maintenance responsibilities including, responding to notifications and troubleshooting equipment issues, which can include collaborating with Biomedical Engineering and Organizational Equipment Coordinator to coordinate necessary equipment repairs and stock;
- Performing inventory responsibilities, including: tracking, ordering, closing open PO’s, inventory follow up, sourcing substitute supplies and maintaining inventory of equipment, etc.
- Provides administration and support for equipment trials and other related activities of the clinical team, including supporting the clinical team with equipment trials.
- Completing safety checks/audits as assigned for quality assurance purposes;
- Monitors reprocessing supplies and follow up to ensure adequate inventory is available;
- Collaborates with Environmental Services to coordinate cleaning of equipment as per IPAC standards;
- Collaborates with partners to coordinate return of any supply/equipment;
- Maintaining responsibility for coordinating the product trials and evaluation process;
- Developing strategies to manage the supply chain management service while maintaining responsibility for the cost effective management of the system;
- Acts as a point person for all staff, physicians, external and internal stakeholders to report equipment/supply issues. Provide feedback as needed;
- Replenish used inventory in all Cath Lab room supply carts and Cath Lab supply carts located in the O.R. using proficient supply replenishment methods;
- Fulfill order inventory requests of various department stakeholders;
- Perform needed inventory projects for department inventory efficiency, item add, expiry cost reconciliation, consignment reconciliation, etc;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years’ experience with equipment supply coordination required;
- Experience working with inforcloudesuite required and/or similar system;
- Grade 12 education or educational equivalent required;
- Strong communication English written and verbal communication skills required;
- Medical terminology required;
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the unit required;
- Knowledge of appropriate body mechanics for lifting and moving equipment required;
- Demonstrated excellent levels of customer service with staff, other departments, patients and family members required;
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of SMH required;
- Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision required;
- Works collaborative with CLMs from other units;
- Excellent problem recognition and creative problem solving skills required;
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional and effective manner required;
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility & proven ability to work independently and to complete work in a timely manner.
- Experience in a hospital environment an asset;
- Must have an excellent attendance record.
