Reporting to the Vice President, Operations (Signature), the Business Development Representative position requires (but is not limited to) site visits with clients, cold calling and developing leads, contract preparation and negotiation, continual interaction with restaurant teams, event sales, as well as coordinating all on-site information flow between our guests, suppliers, and vendors. This individual is also involved in planning and executing events.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to generate event bookings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential guests, including corporate clients, hotel concierge staff, special event planners, and local businesses.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the event industry and the hospitality industry.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and community events to promote the company’s event services.
- Create and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Partner with our marketing team to create materials and promotional campaigns.
- Partner with the marketing team to plan social media and online presence related to event services.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations for prospective guests.
Event Execution
- Collaborate with guests to understand their vision, requirements, and budget.
- Create comprehensive event proposals, including timelines, budgets, and detailed plans.
- Develop creative concepts and themes tailored to guest preferences.
- Connect with local venues, hotels to develop relationships and cross promotions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for guests throughout the planning process.
- Conduct site visits and consultations.
- Work closely with the management team in the respective location to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee the set up and break down of events, ensuring all elements meet the restaurant's standards.
- Manage the event timeline, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Partner with location management team to address any issues that arise during the event.
Relationship-Management
- Conduct post-event evaluations/communications to gather guest feedback.
- Prepare detailed reports on event outcomes, including financial performance and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain contact with database of clients to facilitate repeat business.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience in business development, hospitality industry preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong sales and marketing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A self-starter with demonstrated success in sales or business development roles.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
- Must be comfortable to travel to various locations in the GTA area.
