Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Communications Lead is a strategic communicator accountable for content development to support communicating the corporate strategy and key initiatives. The individual must have strong presentation development skills to support the creation of decks and materials for key company stakeholders. Content will be developed working with the CEO, CFO, VP Finance etc. The role will also support the execution of corporate communications to drive awareness and connection to the organizational strategy to influence the organizational culture, and engagement among Recipe employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing key corporate events such as Recipe Town Halls, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion events, strategic brand and franchisees conferences, board meetings, etc. This role will also be responsible for employer branding on internal and external sites, employer value proposition and positioning on sites such as Glassdoor, LinkedIn and Recipe social media accounts.
In addition, this role is responsible for coordinating a cross functional response to crisis management and crisis communications working hand in hand with the CEO, brand and division leads, the Chief People Officer and General Counsel where applicable.
What you will do in this role:
- Create and manage communications that are compelling, timely and align to Recipe’s vision, mission, values and overall strategy
- Work with cross functional partners to effectively communicate initiatives to employees and key stakeholders
- Work with the Talent team on employer branding strategy. Research industry and market trends to add value to ongoing corporate employer branding strategy
- Manage corporate social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Ensure all posts to Recipe social media outlets are to the highest degree of clarity, accuracy, professionalism and integrity
- Work with the Web Development team to maintain and update the corporate website with high quality and relevant content, photography and the latest company news and events
- Create and distribute the Daily Media newsletter to the employee email database
- Support creation of presentation materials for Board of Directors meetings, key franchisee or supplier meetings, Town Halls etc.
- Assist in key event strategy and coordination i.e. franchisee and brand conferences, etc.
- Monitor Recipe press coverage
- Collect and interpret data on internal communication initiatives effectiveness and track viewership on social channels
- Undertake special projects and other duties, as required
What we are looking for from you:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Public Relations or communications professional
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations or other related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent and creative presentation skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross functional relationships at all levels in the organization
- Savvy with all things digital
- Experienced in writing and proofing editorial publications, social media posts, blog posts, etc.
- Pop culture and trend expert
- Strong creative ideation and execution skills
