The Opportunity
Ancora Waterfront Dining & Patio’s cuisine manifesto is hinged on sustainable seafood, while sourcing local and international ingredients, and draws inspiration from its Pacific Northwest surroundings. Understanding the city's dining evolution has inspired Ancora to create a menu that accommodates all of its diners' culinary desires, combining flavours.
We are looking for a Server (Part time) Seasonal at our False Creek location with the same passion for food and the hospitality industry as we have! The right candidate will have the opportunity to advance into other positions at Ancora or one of Viaggio’s other award-winning restaurants.
What You’ll Do
- Provide – Excellence in customer service during customer full dining experience.
- Servers should have a deep understanding of the ingredients and food served.
- Demonstrate the ability to go the extra step to accommodate guest requests and suggestions.
- Proactively assist other servers with table maintenance, running food, side duties, and assisting to take payments.
- Be knowledgeable regarding allergy policies and procedures to ensure guests are not at risk for an allergic reaction.
- Adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Continuously strive for superior guest satisfaction.
- Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu - offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining chef’s specials; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed and directed by supervisor.
What You Have
- 1+ years of serving experience in a similar dining and beverage setting
- Must be the age of majority to serve alcoholic beverages with a valid Serving it Right certificate.
- Strong knowledge of wine and cocktails.
- Enthusiastic and committed to guest satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude accompanied by an outgoing disposition.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be available for Friday, Saturdays & Sundays
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.40 per hour
