Job Description
- Responsible for supply planning and apply forecasting models as agreed by manager to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained and replenished for production.
- Determine cycle count schedule to monitor and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Analyze consumption data (weekly usage) and inventory level from SAP reports to proactively identify/resolve out-of-stock, BOM issue, aging inventory, and excess stock risks.
- Provide inventory status to purchasing team for order placement and shipment expedition etc. to avoid shortage/run-out.
- Prepare Part Shortage Report daily to and inform buyers to expedite shortage parts.
- Establish ABC/XYZ inventory controls for raw materials and non-inventory parts and manage re-order quantity to ensure material supply and avoid shortage.
- Review Kanban parameter (minimum order quantity, re-order quantity) of purchased parts regularly and update Kanban according to material consumption trends.
- Manage Engineering Change parts, identify parts affected, determine material transition schedule and notify Engineering and Quality when new parts phased in.
- Effective planning and timing of purchase orders releases from local and international suppliers to avoid stock outs and rush shipments.
- Understand new product introduction and plan how to implement & establish the buy parameters via Kanban in supporting the procurement /lead time cycle.
- Establish shipment delivery schedules for completed purchase orders and monitor shipment status progress.
- Assist buyers to adjust shipment release plans or expedite shipments as required.
- Serve as a link between Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, and Manufacturing to review material consumption and update usage accordingly.
- Support inventory cycle count as required.
- Other tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager.
Qualifications
- College level education in Supply Chain/Logistics/Business is required.
- 2 years planning experience in manufacturing industry is required.
- SAP or ERP experience and data analytics experience is required.
- ASCM or CPIM or Procurement/Planning Certificate is preferred.
- Experience with overseas manufacturers and international shipments is an asset
- Enthusiastic, detail and solution oriented, task focused, self motivated.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision
- Must be “hands on” with strong problem solving expertise.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Expert user in Google Sheet and MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
