Job Summary:
We are looking for a cake decorator to join our team. The role requires decorating cakes with precision and speed, as we handle a high volume of takeout orders. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for communicating effectively with customers to understand their specific needs and preferences.
Salary:
$17.4 - $20 per hour, depending on experience
Expected Hours:
16 - 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Work hours may include evenings from 5 pm to 11 pm.
Responsibilities:
Cake Decoration:
- Design and decorate cakes with a focus on speed and accuracy.
- Apply icing, frosting, and other decorative elements with meticulous attention to detail.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers to clearly understand their requirements and preferences.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on cake designs and options.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Ensure workstations, tools, and equipment are kept clean and sanitized at all times.
- Follow strict hygiene and safety standards in food preparation.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Previous experience as a cake decorator or baker is preferred but not mandatory.
Attention to Detail:
- Demonstrated ability to work with precision and focus on small details.
Time Management:
- Proven ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively, especially during peak times or tight deadlines.
Communication:
- Strong communication skills for engaging with customers and collaborating with team members.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Note:
- Work hours may include evenings from 5 pm to 11 pm to meet customer demand and specific deadlines.
