We are currently recruiting for a Personal Care Attendant to assist our female client who is a stroke survivor with Dystonia, in providing personal care and assistance with all activities of daily living.
The preferred candidate would be someone with a calm energy, sense of humor, who enjoys helping client with makeup and nail polish, and enjoys having some quiet music on sometimes.
Our Client was in the arts and entertainment industry for ten years as the Publicist, Tour, and Fan Development Manager for Like A Storm. She met them in 2005 when they came to Vancouver and played at the Buffalo Club. She was travelling to surprise them at their sold-out shows all over the country with Creed.
She now enjoys listening to music and watching shows, and likes having her nails and makeup done.
No experience is necessary for this position as on-the-job training is provided.
Location:
- North Vancouver (near Crickmay Park)
Shifts & Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 5:00pm-10:00pm
Compensation:
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- All aspects of activities of daily living and personal care including showering, dressing, washroom care
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Assist with stretching exercises
- Some errands such as grocery shopping
- Transfers using sling and track lift
Required Qualifications:
- Must be fully vaccinated
- Calm demeanor and have a sense of humor
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with a retired senior service dog
- Willingness to be trained
