Job Summary: The Produce Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service in the produce department, managing the freshness and quality of fruits and vegetables, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the wet rack area. This role involves washing, trimming, and preparing produce, stocking displays, and assisting customers with their produce needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Provide information about produce, including handling, storage, and preparation.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
- Produce Preparation:
- Wash, trim, and prepare fruits and vegetables for the wet rack, ensuring they meet quality and presentation standards.
- Handle produce carefully to maintain freshness and minimize damage.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures while preparing produce to ensure food safety.
- Stocking and Inventory Management:
- Stock the wet rack and other produce displays with fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring proper rotation and placement.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving produce deliveries.
- Inspect produce for quality and freshness, removing any damaged or substandard items.
- Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and organized wet rack area, including sinks, countertops, and storage bins.
- Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to store policies.
- Follow health and safety regulations for food handling and sanitation.

Good news! No previous experience is required. We provide you with training to set you up for success! Preference will be given to those with grocery store experience
