Job Overview:
Sky Contracting Inc. is seeking a motivated Construction/Renovation Estimator to assist and support the Senior Estimator in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various multi-residential and commercial projects. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are estimated in a timely manner and align with client requirements, budget, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation: Assist the Senior Estimator in preparing detailed estimates for construction and renovation projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Project Analysis: Analyze architectural drawings, project plans, specifications, and any other documents to create accurate cost estimates.
- Site Visits & Measurements: Conduct site visits to assess the scope of work, take necessary measurements, and gather any additional information needed for estimation.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors and assist in negotiating competitive pricing.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in preparing project budgets and cost reports, ensuring that all estimates are within the defined project budgets.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and any potential changes.
- Document Management: Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, schedules, and project-related documentation. Update cost databases and ensure historical data is used to improve estimate accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure estimates are in compliance with all relevant regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
