Job Description

Site: Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Centre
Department: Nutrition Services
Reports to: TRI Nutrition Services Supervisor
Salary: $24.39 - $25.22 (start rate in accordance with the collective agreement)
Status: Temporary Part-Time (up to six months)
Hours: Up to 24 Hours/Week
Shifts: 7:00 - 3:00 and alternating weekends

Duties
- Assembling meals on the cold assembly beltline, as per meal ticket request
- Retrieving, stocking, and setting up food items and supplies at work stations
- Disassembling, cleaning, and maintaining workstation and beltline area
- Cold food production
- Portioning prepared foods.
Qualifications
- New hires must have grade 12 or equivalent education
- Good manual dexterity and organizational skills
- Good team player
- 6 months practical and related experience
- Food Service Worker Certificate preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- Ability to read/understand short notes, brief forms and memos
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift to 10 kg, loading, and unloading food trucks; pushing heavy food trucks during pick up and delivery of meals
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Required to be available to work alternating weekends and statutory holidays and at least 3-week days in a two-week period
- Work in Warm/Humid Conditions
- May be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations
