Responsibilities:

Take care of clients by providing support and valuable service, including but not limited to meal preparation, hygiene, dressing, disability support, life skills training, nanny services, and help with household tasks.
Provide care and support to clients with autism, mental health disorders, the elderly, injured or limited mobility, and those suffering from chronic conditions.
Provide peace of mind and much-needed relief and respite care to family members or caregivers.
Confer with Relieve-Me Supervisors to discuss client care needs and new developments.
Be part of a healthcare team.

Job Description:

Meal preparation, grooming and hygiene, medication assistance, safety checks, mobility, toileting, dementia care.
Arrange, remind and/or escort clients to medical, psychiatric, dental and diagnostic appointments and/or treatments,
Arrange, remind and/or escort clients to in the community events.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. (French and other languages are considered an asset.)
Excellent note-taking and writing/typing skills and knowledge to update client files accordingly, keep accurate records, and document daily information.
Ability to work independently and make sound responsible decisions, and play an important role as part of an interdisciplinary team immediately reporting client concerns.

Qualifications:

*Live in Regional Municipality of Durham AKA: Durham Region (Pickering, Whitby, Ajax, Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville, Clarington)
PSW, DSW, SSW or equivalent certification.
Knowledge of mental health disorders including depressive disorders, and several years’ experience working with people with disabilities.
Knowledge of autism and autism support with several years experience working with these persons.
Certificates in First Aid and CPR.
Satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
Ability to work shifts.
Experience using lift and transfer equipment.
Covid-19 Vaccination.
Willingness to travel to different locations.
Reliable vehicle.
