Position Overview
The Industry Relations Associate reports to the Manager, Industry & Business Development and leads various pipelines of the society’s revenue generation activities such as ISCT Annual and Regional Conferences. This role is responsible for championing sales adoption pipelines, conducting frequent sector landscape analyses, and tracking relevant KPIs to drive the growth and sustainability of the Society’s corporate ventures.
The Industry Relations Associate position is a front-facing role; this individual is expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills to enable effective dialogue with potential and existing corporate partners. The Industry Relations Associate will be a driven self-sufficient individual interested in working in a fast-paced environment with exceptional time-management skills, keen attention to detail, and a fantastic team-oriented attitude.
Note, an understanding of the Cell and Gene Therapy field is not a requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
Sales Pipeline Facilitation:
- Work with the Manager, Industry & Business Development to lead various streams of the Annual and Regional Meeting Sales and Sponsorship revenue generation
- Prepare and organize the sales opportunities, selling materials, and program financial models
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of sales leads, targets and client interactions across CRM systems
- Provide weekly sales reports to track performance in alignment with Society goals and revenue budget targets
- Create effective and engaging promotional campaigns for various audiences across different social platforms such as LinkedIn and Outlook
- Manage up to 65 accounts concurrently, overseeing each from initial engagement to successful close
Fulfillment Administration:
- Oversight of sponsorship related billing cycle(s) with ISCT Staff Accountant and Logistics Team
- Ensure sponsorship information across ISCT website(s) and social platforms is accurately represented, coordinating with the ISCT Communications Specialist
- Lead the execution of various digital sponsorship opportunities, such as scheduling email campaigns and uploading website banner advertisements
Society Strategic Planning Support:
- Analyze internal data trends to gain insights and make evidence-driven recommendations
Stakeholder Engagement and Client Relations:
- Initiate and maintain relationships with CGT industry accounts and relevant stakeholders
- Develop ISCT corporate campaigns, working directly with Manager and Communications Specialist
Support the Manager, Industry & Business Development by:
- Preparing detailed qualitative and quantitative reports and effective PowerPoint presentations
- Scheduling meetings and managing the ISCT Meeting inbox as directed
Fulfill other job-specific responsibilities as required:
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team’s success
- Support other team members as needed
Qualifications
- University undergraduate degree required (commerce or business administration preferable)
- 1-2 years’ experience in business development and outbound sales
- Demonstrated success in key account management
- Exceptional business acumen and passion for exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in a professional setting
- Resourceful and ability to solve problems creatively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to manage competing priorities, be proactive and met deadlines
- Global cultural awareness/sensitivity and flexibility to adapt to working across global time zones
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office suite. Advanced certificates in PowerPoint and Excel will be considered an asset
- Experience in the Life Sciences industry is considered an asset
