Role Overview
As a
Jr. Designer, you’ll be part of a design culture that moves food marketing forward as well as part of a larger team of creatives, content creators and producers that can make just about any idea into reality. Your designs will support Kraft Heinz’s North American brands (20+). Your work will make a meaningful impact with a multi-talented team in North America (Toronto & Chicago) that blurs the lines of what marketing can be in today’s always-on, socially connected marketing industry.
For this role, we’re looking for a sharp, motivated Junior Graphic Designer with an eye for turning insights and ideas into creative design solutions and a passion for visual storytelling. If you’re a designer who thrives in a fast-paced, variety-filled environment, and is obsessed with the finer details that make brands stand out—this is your stage. As a part of our team, you’ll collaborate across disciplines, turning insights into visual solutions that move people and spark conversation.
You’ll work to bring concepts and campaigns to life, supporting fellow Designers, Art Directors and Content Creators. You’ll collaborate with creative teams under the guide of the Design Lead and Creative Directors, crafting pixel-perfect design excellence to ensure all work is executed with clarity, brand-consistency and delivers stellar content to build brand love with our consumers.
You’ll be part of a design team with frequent cross-team collaboration, to find ways to make great content at the speed of culture. Responsibilties
- Collaborate to Bring Campaigns to Life: Collaborate and support a dense roster of Creative Directors, Art Directors, Content Creators, copywriters, and strategists, to turn creative concepts into impactful visuals that tell brand stories across platforms. From concept to execution, your work will help shape ad campaigns native to social, and create adaptable templates that can be easily repurposed for various types of quarterly content.
- Deck Design That Speaks: Develop dynamic pitch decks and client presentations that not only look stunning but also communicate complex ideas in simple, elegant ways. These decks will serve as the visual foundation for new business pitches, campaign presentations and internal communications for agency leadership.
- Maintain Brand Integrity: Ensure that every design stays true to each brand’s identity, while finding opportunities to elevate the visual language with fresh perspectives.
- Craft Social-First Content: Collaborate with a dense roster of content creators and strategists to create visually engaging social media assets—static posts, stories, banners—designed to stop the scroll and start a dialogue for our brands as well as The Kitchen’s social channels.
- Stay Current, Stay Ahead: Stay plugged into design trends, emerging tools, and the evolving landscape of social platforms. You’ll be expected to push boundaries, experiment, and inject fresh ideas into our creative work.
- Adapt Designs to Various Formats, and modify designs to fit the requirements of different social media platforms, including aspect ratios, resolutions, and mobile vs. desktop formats.
- Prepare Files for Final Deliver Ensure that all design files are prepared correctly for final output optimized for their appropriate medium
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years experience with a BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
- You’re an Adobe Creative Cloud rockstar with an emphasis in Illustrator and Photoshop, with some knowledge of motion design and video editing tools like After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to design and collaborate within Figma for seamless project workflows and leveraging pre-fixed templates to maximize a campaigns visual communication
- Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
- A strong understanding of Design Principles and Elements: typography, layout, visual composition, with an eye for both detail and the bigger picture.
- Experience designing for social media platforms—understanding the nuances of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to take direction well, while also contributing your own ideas and insights to projects.
- A portfolio that shows your range, creativity, and ability to create visual narratives across different formats and media.
- A desire to work in an environment where ideas matter—and a belief that design is more than just how something looks but how it makes people feel.
- A can-do, positive and uplifting attitude able to collaborate with enthusiasm and inspire co-workers and brand partners.
- A driven self-starter to optimize and exceed expectations
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), comfortable presenting work across all levels of an organization
- Exposure to and understanding of UI/UX are an advantage.
