As we scale, we’re looking for a dynamic, hands-on Head of Sales to lead our growth in financial operations and management services. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial sales leader with deep accounting knowledge, either as a CPA or through extensive experience in accounting/financial technology sales, and the drive to build and scale a sales function from the ground up.
Position Summary: The Head of Sales will develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive Enkel’s growth. This role requires a mix of leadership and active involvement in day-to-day sales activities. You’ll focus on expanding our client base across various sectors, particularly within the Not-for-Profit and small business segments, and building a scalable sales team and process. This is a high-impact position for a sales leader ready to lead by example and drive results in a small, fast-paced environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with Enkel’s growth goals, focusing on financial management solutions for Not-for-Profits and small businesses. Drive top-line growth across multiple verticals through outbound sales initiatives and by nurturing leads generated through marketing sources.
- Revenue Growth & Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities, building partnerships with CPA firms and other relevant channels. Manage complex negotiations, ensuring alignment between client needs and Enkel’s offerings.
- Sales Team Building & Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing sales team from the ground up, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to drive results. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and achievement-driven culture within the team.
- Sales operations and Process Development & Optimization: Establish a structured, data-driven sales process, including lead generation, nurturing, deal conversion, and client onboarding. Implement sales operations and resource management practices to support scalability.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, prioritizing customer satisfaction and long-term retention. Serve as a key contact for clients and strategic partners, addressing their needs and fostering trust.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and Enkel’s leadership team to align sales objectives with company goals. Collaborate with marketing to create sales materials, campaigns, and strategies that reinforce Enkel’s brand and value proposition.
- Market Insights & Product Feedback: Gather and share insights from client interactions to influence product and service development, ensuring that Enkel’s offerings meet client needs and align with market demand.
- Performance Metrics & Data Analysis: Set clear sales metrics, regularly monitor performance, and leverage data to drive improvements. Adapt strategies as needed to optimize lead conversion, pipeline health, and team efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience and Expertise:
- 7+ years in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within professional services, accounting, or financial technology. Experience with cloud accounting solutions and financial management services is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to build and scale sales functions in small to medium-sized organizations, with hands-on involvement in achieving growth.
- Accounting Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and industry standards, ideally with CPA qualifications or substantial experience selling accounting/financial services technology.
- Leadership & Collaboration Skills:
- Track record of effectively building and leading sales teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.
- Skilled at working cross-functionally to drive organizational alignment and influence stakeholders.
- Sales operations & Process Management:
- Experience in designing and executing scalable sales operations and processes that optimize team productivity and client acquisition.
- Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., Hubspot) and data analysis for performance insights.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required).
