Job Description

Site: Toronto Rehab - University Center
Department: Nutrition Services
Reports to: Supervisor
Hours: Up to 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: $24.39 per hour (in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
Status: Temporary Full-Time (up to six months)
Shifts: 9.00 - 17.00 shifts and alternate weekends as per schedule line and required operationally

Duties
- Collect the list with eligible patients and using an iPad go onto all units, visit patients, and start taking food orders for the following day following the script
- Once all food orders have been recorded in the system, return to the kitchen
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- New hires must have grade 12 or equivalent education
- Good manual dexterity and organizational skills
- Good team player
- 6 months practical and related experience
- Food Service Worker Certificate preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- Ability to read/understand short notes, brief forms and memos
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift up to 10 kg, loading, and unloading food carts
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Required to work alternating weekends and statutory holidays
- May be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations
- Must be able to work at both UC and BC sites, as per operational needs
