The Role
Porta is looking for a Full-Time, Permanent, detail oriented and driven
Logistics Analyst to join the team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Demand Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes while maintaining high standards for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The analyst collaborates with internal departments, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Roles and Responsibilities
Outbound Freight:
- Manage and coordinate all outbound shipments, ensuring products are delivered to customers on time and in full
- Optimize transportation routes and freight costs by working closely with carriers
- Track and resolve any freight-related issues, such as delays, damages, or losses
3rd Party Warehouse Management:
- Oversee relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PL partners to identify areas of improvement and negotiate service contracts
- Ensure seamless integration between 3PL operations and internal supply chain processes
Customer Sales Fulfillment:
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure accurate order processing and fulfillment
- Manage customer orders from receipt to delivery, ensuring timely and efficient service
- Work closely with customers to address order issues and ensure high satisfaction levels
Customer Service:
- Serve as the point of contact for customer inquiries related to logistics, order status, and delivery
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to maintain positive relationships
- Provide regular updates to internal teams on customer feedback and logistics performance
Freight Cost Analysis:
- Continuously analyze freight costs, identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., volume discounts, route optimization), and propose strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality
Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for outbound logistics, customer order fulfillment, and 3PL performance. Provide regular reports to leadership with recommendations for improvement
Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing logistics processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies. Lead initiatives to improve processes, streamline operations, and reduce lead times
- Provide reports on key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and inventory accuracy
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all logistics operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including transportation and safety standards. Stay updated on changes in regulations that may impact operations
