Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain and strictly abide by Health regulations and Hotel policies & procedures.
- Meet with Sous Chef/Executive Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance.
- Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks to complete; review priorities.
- Ensure consistency in presentation of prepared food items; ensure minimum waste related to food preparation.
- Upkeep of daily mise-en-place, maintaining perfect condition and consistent par-levels.
- Assist in maintenance and inform Kitchen leadership of shortages required for service.
- Encourage potential and apprentice chefs in their work, offering guidance in accordance with culinary standards, recipes and menus of hotel. Assist in storage of food items.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar capacity, ideally within an upper-upscale hotel/restaurant environment.
- Food Safe certification required.
- Red Seal certification an asset.
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or related discipline an asset.
- Strong background in high volume kitchen, with emphasis on banquet food production.
- Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining urgency at all times.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal & communication skills.
- Ability to actively demonstrate initiative and high performance within a team environment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $26.17-$34.89 per hour
