Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Cost Estimator to assist with the tendering process, prepare detailed estimates, and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers. The role is logistics-focused and reports to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate has excellent time management skills, communication skills and the ability to solve problems under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with material take-offs and client inquiries during the tendering process.
- Review specifications, drawings, and manage Request for Bids (RFB).
- Prepare detailed estimates, ensuring accuracy and financial objectives.
- Solicit quotes, submit tenders, and manage project documentation.
- Liaise between Operations, Design, Accounting, and Sales teams to ensure accuracy in projects.
- Manage project documentation, including sub-trade agreements, site checks, change orders, and other logistics.
- Conduct site visits for measurements and oversee project schedules.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Technical training or diploma in engineering, construction, or related fields.
- 2 years of relevant experience in cost estimating or construction.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, MS Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail, and team collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in signage or custom metal manufacturing is preferred.
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40hrs per week
