Job Overview
The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Human Resources team with execution of HR strategy and coordinating various HR activities including recruiting, onboarding new employees, employee relations, employee inquiries, addressing training needs, audits and project work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support on a variety of ongoing or new HR projects and initiatives
- Projects to include the continued development of company job description creation/updates, policies and procedures development, and other projects as assigned from the HR Department strategy
- Formulate methods to improve employment policies, processes, and practices
- Coordinate and collaborate with other members within Human Resources in the completion of projects and the launch of new initiatives
- Assist Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Business Partners with the recruitment process
- Prepare and post vacant positions within Give & Go on multiple hiring sites and on c ollege hiring portals
- Coordinate logistics for job fairs and recruitment events
- Screen resumes and application forms, schedule and attend interviews and conduct reference checks for final candidates and verify applicant documentation, create offers and support the creation of announcements
- Coordinate and perform Human Resources orientation and onboarding for new hires and ensure completion of all onboarding documentation including employee file
- Perform administrative tasks such as employee filing, updating Human Resources bulletin boards and organizing online Human Resources SharePoint structure
- Maintain training matrix, administer employee training program by coordinating timing/invitations, and communicating details to attendees
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance where applicable
- Assist other Human Resources functions and operations within Give & Go when requested
- Participate on the Give & Go social committee and coordinate the facilitation of internal social events, including department initiatives
- Attend weekly and monthly HR meetings to provide updates on the status of projects and initiatives
- Consult with management to identify and analyze current and future business challenges and needs
- Research, analyze and propose programs and projects
- Create and submit reports to senior management
Recipe For Success
- Completion of college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Previous 1-year experience working within a Human Resources department
- Previous experience working within a Human Resources department within the manufacturing industry
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
- Familiar with applicable employment legislation
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and project management skills
- Must be able to meet project deadlines, with good sense of urgency and follow through
- Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
