What You'll Be Doing
The Jr. Analyst, Direct Marketing o-op will support the development of multiple automated customer journeys. The Digital & Direct Executions team, part of the broader Marketing organization, aims to leverage customer data & insights to deliver meaningful communications to CIBC’s customers, with a strong focus on Marketing Automation. This hands-on role involves building new data integrations, campaign journeys, and automations in multiple Marketing Technologies tools.
You will work on a team that drives a data-first approach to decision-making. This includes querying backend customer data, front-end web analytics, or a combination of both to enhance customer journeys and drive media efficiencies. You will also create client segmentation strategies for audience targeting that align with the goals of marketing campaigns.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You'll Succeed
- Analytical Thinking: Access various data sources from web analytics, sales, transactions, demographic & qualitative data. Identify important trends, insights, and suggestions to increase sales or enhance the client experience. Prior experience with web analytics platforms or programming languages such as Python, SaaS, VBA, or SQL is beneficial.
- Collaborative Working: Work with different teams across CIBC Digital & Direct Marketing to identify key customer goals for each journey map and highlight relevant metrics that will drive actionable recommendations to improve client experience and sales.
- Communication through Storytelling: Use tools such as Adobe Analytics or Salesforce Marketing Cloud / Data Cloud to create narratives that communicate findings on client behavior, traffic, digital behavior, and online application performance objectives.
- Digital Marketing: Gain an understanding of how customers interact with different channels such as paid media, mobile, online, email, etc., as they proceed through the purchasing funnel. Experience in Digital, Direct, or Database Marketing is advantageous. Comfort with large data sets and understanding of database architecture, analytic problem-solving, and SQL query execution for campaign reporting and optimization are essential.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to develop new data, campaigns, templates, and content.
Who You Are
- Educational Background: You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Data & Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience: Some experience with Marketing Technology tools such as Adobe (Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe CDP, Audience Manager, Analytics, Target), Google (DV360, SA360, GA360, BQ), and Salesforce (Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud) stacks is a plus.
