Just For Laughs VANCOUVER is seeking a creative and driven Social Media & Email Marketing Specialist to lead our digital presence and engage with comedy lovers everywhere for a 4 month contract. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy across various platforms, elevating our brand, and expanding our online community.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and execute social media and email marketing strategies to promote Just for Laughs VANCOUVER, its festival, and artists.
● Create engaging content (text, images, videos) that aligns with the brand’s tone and identity for social media and email platforms.
● Manage daily social media content calendars and ensure active audience engagement across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, and TikTok.
● Collaborate with internal teams to align on promotions and campaigns.
● Grow and segment email lists, managing campaigns with A/B testing to optimize performance.
● Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations.
● Monitor and report on social media and email performance, adjusting strategies to optimize growth and engagement.
● Provide live event coverage and support organic & paid social campaigns to drive ticket sales and brand awareness.
● Stay updated on trends and best practices to keep digital marketing efforts at the forefront.
Daily Tasks:
● Create and manage content calendars using video and photo assets.
● Review and optimize daily social media content, ensuring proper formatting, engaging visuals, and functional links.
● Manage community interactions by ensuring active responses to comments and messages that are quality and consistent.
● Monitor and adjust ad campaigns for optimal performance.
● Address client, artist, and team requests, integrating them into digital planning tools for seamless workflow.
● Write, design, and schedule email newsletters, creating responsive templates and targeting segmented audiences.
● Collaborate with teams to ensure cohesive execution of campaigns across social and email platforms.
Qualifications:
● 3+ years managing social media in a professional setting (entertainment or comedy industry experience is a plus).
● Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, analytics tools, and paid campaign management.
● Proven content creation skills, including writing, visual editing, and video production.
● Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot) and basic HTML/CSS.
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
● Passion for comedy, entertainment, and digital marketing with a creative mindset.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including working with artists and influencers.
● Analytical skills to interpret data and optimize performance across social and email campaigns.
Competencies:
Basic ads management, Strong writing skills, Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, Google Suite, Mailchimp, Basic analytical understanding, Problem-solving skills, Effective multitasking abilities

Compensation:
Hourly rate of $30-$40, based on experience.
4-month contract (early November through February)
Hours will vary depending on festival needs. Peak workloads expected in late November, early December, and again in the lead-up to the festival in February. Full availability is required for on-site work from February 13-22, 2025.
Opportunities for ongoing work and an annual recurring contract, for the right fit.
