About the Team
As part of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Corporate Services (CS) team plays a critical role in supporting the entire organization. Comprised of Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations, Corporate Policy, Corporate Privacy & Information, Sourcing and Vendor Performance, Strategy & Business Transformation, Social Impact & Environmental Sustainability and the Corporate Project Management Office, CS is driven by customer-service and taking action to advise, consult and support each business area throughout the LDB.
The CS team is comprised of approximately 70 staff. What brings CS together as a team is the ability to work together to support both the operational areas of the business and other corporate service areas (e.g., Corporate Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology). The group has a strategic lens with a focus on ensuring the organization aligns and complies with corporate priorities, policies, legislation, best practices, and government mandate.
About the Role:
The Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist is responsible for leading the LDB’s digital communication strategies and content that will strengthen the LDB’s relationships with employees, customers and stakeholders, and manage the LDB’s reputation. The Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist will work directly with the Senior Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Relations and the Director of Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations to collaborate on defining and implementing the overall digital communications plan.
This role is also responsible for collaborating on the design of digital communications channels, and the execution of new digital communication tools, technologies, strategies, and design.
As the Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist, you will:
• Drive, develop and implement external and internal corporate digital communications and engagement strategies, plans, frameworks, and content to support overarching communications deliverables and initiatives, using digital channels such as LDB websites, intranet, social media, video, and online meetings.
• Create, implement and maintain a corporate digital communications plan that aligns with LDB goals and engages cross-functional teams including operational areas of the business and other support areas to support the continued improvement and currency of our channels.
• Develop, implement and maintain digital communications strategies (utilizing websites, intranet, video, and social media content) to support specific initiatives and campaigns.
• Prepare materials for internal and external digital communication channels, which may include writing and editing, determining layouts and style, video production, and posting of materials.
• Provide advice and support to LDB executive and leadership teams on effectively delivering key online meetings, which includes helping to set agendas, advising on the effective use of technologies, collaborating on presentations, and providing support during meetings.
• Actively own all existing, emerging and future corporate digital communication channels. This includes project management and strategy related to:
o Content strategy, design, and functionality of corporate website, social media, and intranet.
o LDB’s presence and consistency on all corporate digital platforms.
• Lead digital communications and engagement program evaluation, including implementation of required business changes based on evaluation feedback and data, develops key performance indicators on the effectiveness of LDB digital communication and engagement tactics, and reports regularly on those KPIs.
• Support Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations teams with communications support, when needed; this includes developing content and written materials for internal and external audiences.
• Identify potential negative or crisis situations and applies communications resolution principles to mitigate issues.
• Conduct research and benchmarks against other jurisdictions to ensure best-in-class digital communication practices.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as LDB senior leadership teams, LDB departments, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, provincial liquor and cannabis boards and any other government agencies to consult and exchange information to ensure consistency in digital communication tools and content.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Degree or diploma in communications, digital strategy or a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of recent, related work experience*.
OR
A combination of education, training and experience may be considered i.e., secondary (high) school diploma, and a digital communication related certification with 3 years of recent, related work experience*.
*Recent, related work experience must have occurred within the last 5 years and must include the following:
• Experience in developing and implementing digital communications and/or corporate communication strategies, policies, plans, and performance metrics to achieve set goals.
• Web content and/or social media strategy development, execution, and evaluation.
• Preparing and proofreading content for online, publications, documents, social media, reports, and communication materials for mass distribution.
Preference may be given to those candidates with:
• Experience leading digital communications and engagement in a government or regulatory environment.
• Experience with website design and user experience.
• Experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in audio/video production.
• Experience with managing large, virtual meetings (e.g., townhalls and cross-functional department meetings).
Compensation and Benefits Package:
The salary range for this role is $69,760.70 - $79,322.69 per annum.
