Role Summary:
The Sales and Marketing Assistant at picnic social strategies supports the director, marketing and design team by keeping internal operations running smoothly and upholding the external brand image of the agency to potential clients and contractors. The Sales and Marketing Assistant will be responsible for creating and distributing marketing, design and sales content, preparing marketing proposals and price estimates, updating and maintaining CRM, social media and content databases, supporting the execution of events and campaigns, managing customer relations and providing administrative support.
Responsibilities:
Creating and Distributing Content:
- Support the marketing, design and sales teams with daily content tasks
- Support the graphic designer with social media designs and video editing
- Support the marketing team with drafting content and topic ideas for social media, newsletters, blogs and emails
- Support the marketing team with social media engagement and social listening
- Manage picnic's Social Media Management platform, and upload approved social media posts and graphics, following best practices and fine tuning to each social media channel.
- Manage picnic's SEO platform, and prepare client keyword and blog topic research.
- Upload blogs to websites, ensuring they meet Yoast greenlight standards.
Providing Administrative and Sales Support:
- Be available for client meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Schedule consultations and prepare and send documents, such as proposals, contracts, and invoices.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the CRM system and other databases with accurate information about prospects, customers and deals.
- Manage customer inquiries and complaints.
- Support the sales team with drafting Request for Proposals
- Support with the onboarding of new clients and preparation of onboarding materials.
- Support with monthly marketing reports for client accounts.
- Collaborate with other team members, throughout the various phases of a project.
- Support with the research and development of marketing plans and customer personas.
- Be available for event, photography and video shoot days.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or higher in journalism, marketing, English, or communications.
- Experience creating written online content: 2-3 year minimum
- Exceptional ability to copyedit, line edit and proofread using AP Style
- Understanding of SEO is a requirement
- Working experience with Canva is an asset
- Working experience with Wordpress is an asset
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident required
- Digital portfolio that includes examples of work experience, design and written samples.
