Job Description
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Retail Operations Director, the Retail Operations Systems Lead will take point in leading the Agile Retail Pod as the Product Owner, leading the development and enhancement of our retail systems that support our stores. This role requires a deep understanding of retail operations and customer experience to ensure that our systems are efficient, scalable, and aligned with our strategic pillars.
What You'll Do:
- As the subject matter expert for the POS, communicate the vision and execute the strategy for our retail systems, aligning with the defined priorities and objectives.
- Maintain a retail systems roadmap that outlines short-term and long-term goals, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, including IT, to gather requirements, prioritize features, and support in delivering solutions that enhance the retail experience.
- Create, manage, and prioritize the backlog, ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering the highest value features and improvement.
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring that the development team understands the business requirements to be able to deliver solutions that meet the business needs.
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, refinement sessions, and retrospectives.
- Ensure all product decisions are made with a focus on improving the guest experience.
- Provide support and training to store teams and stakeholders as needed to ensure new features and systems are adopted effectively.
- Maintain the system administration of The Nest (Yoobic) and continuous enhancement strategies.
- Maintain all standard operating procedures related to the point of sale system and other retail systems and tools.
- Support projects in other areas of the Central Retail Operations department as needed.
Let's Talk About You:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management in the apparel or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including POS systems.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions.
- Some technical proficiency with an understanding of software development processes and system integrations.
- Undergraduate degree with high achievement, in a discipline that teaches quantitative and qualitative analysis and critical thinking (e.g., business, marketing, engineering, law)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Can understand ‘the big picture’ and exercise good business judgement
- Strong organizational, planning and priority setting skills; attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and multitask effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Able to partner with other functions/business leaders on complex problems and business issues
- Leadership ability – able to inspire others to action
- Strong understanding of retail and apparel industry, up-to-date on industry events and hold perspective on major issues
- Ability to analyze financial reports
