Position Purpose
The Operations Analyst will support projects and tactical activities related to the maintenance and continuous improvement of key processes surrounding information technology within the Merchandising Programs Team for the Canadian division. The individual will work closely with end users, business units and IT to identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve technology capabilities. In addition, the individual will liaise with teams across the organization to define business requirements and establish and manage essential phases of the project management lifecycle for both technical and non-technical projects. This will require the development of strong relationships and effective communication skills between technically and non-technically oriented teams across the organization and external third-party groups.
Position Responsibilities
- Work with the Manager, Programs (Merchandising) to drive the IT roadmap for the Merchandising team
- Liaise closely with the merchant teams to gather requirements, understand existing gaps in current technologies to help optimize tools and processes
- Liaise with technical teams, communicating business process requirements to build tools/solutions that maximize the user experience and customer experience
- Develops and gains alignment on solutions using an agile approach with internal teams and IT
- Validates current processes, aligns stakeholders on future state processes and creates user stories with business stakeholders, UX and IT partners
- Aids in research of competitive landscape, to share insights and recommend best solutions to improve business efficiency and ensure we continue to meet our goals and objectives
- Proactively communicate important updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding progress, opportunities, and risks
- Provide internal teams with insights and recommendations to improve key performance metrics related to IT enhancements
- Manage and deploy key phases of the project management lifecycle (e.g. design sessions, user acceptance testing, communication strategy, pilot, and launch)
- Fosters collaboration with cross functional team members (internal teams and IT etc.) to drive value and resolve impediments
Experience/Knowledge Required
- Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets expectation, consistently demonstrates)
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Self-starter, efficient, organized, and able to produce high quality work under pressure and in a timely fashion
- Strong knowledge of internal systems i.e., SAP, COM, Hybris would be an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with technical and business teams
- Strong business acumen in operations and process improvement
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, and Power Point
