About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and Strategic Procurement Operations and Process Evolution Specialist to join our dynamic procurement team in this new role .. The Procurement Operation and Process Evolution Specialist will be responsible of acting as the procurement representative in a new company process engaging multiple IT stakeholders, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring effective utilization of tools and technologies. This new role will focus on validating the requests’ accuracy received, identifying opportunities for improvement, and facilitating collaboration across various departments. As this is a new role, key responsibilities may evolve over time, providing a dynamic environment for professional development and impact. This new role is created to support our procurement transformation.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, helping us build and refine our procurement processes.
What you'll do here:
Cross-Functional Liaison : Act as the procurement representative during the pre-evaluation of procurement requests, ensuring that requests align with strategic goals and that information provided are complete. Provide guidance on procurement best practice to select a solution/supplier and identify potential opportunities. Ensure alignment with corporate objectives and policies by collaborating with various departments and stakeholders. Serve as the key point of contact between procurement and other business units.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement procurement best practices, standardize processes, and align them with industry standards. Actively participate in company-wide process improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Technology & Tools: Participate in the deployment and optimization of procurement technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Training & Development: Design and deliver training programs and communication to upskill procurement teams on new processes, tools, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, tools, and best practices.
Experience with procurement technologies (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, ServiceNow)
Proven track record of driving process improvements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a strong ability to collaborate across departments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
Experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation within procurement processes.
Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPM, or CSCP.(asset)
Experience working in a Center of Excellence or similar environment. (asset)
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. (asset)
Advanced proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) (good asset)
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
