Reporting to the Vice President, Operations (Signature), the Event Consultant position is twofold; planning, organizing, and executing events, as well as proactively seeking new business opportunities. The position requires (but is not limited to) site visits with clients, cold calling and developing leads, contract preparation and negotiation, continual interaction with restaurant teams, event sales, as well as coordinating all on-site information flow between our guests, suppliers, and vendors.
- Cold calling potential clients to understand their event space needs.
- Negotiate contracts and achieve sales goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential guests, including corporate clients, hotel concierge staff, special event planners, and local businesses.
- Partner with the marketing team to plan social media and online presence related to event services.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the event industry and the hospitality industry.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and community events to promote the company’s event services.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations for prospective guests.
- Conduct site visits and consultations.
- Collaborate with guests to understand their vision, requirements, and budget.
- Create comprehensive event proposals, including timelines, budgets, and detailed plans.
- Oversee the set up and break down of events, ensuring all elements meet the restaurant's standards.
- Manage the event timeline, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Serve as the main point of contact for guests throughout the planning process.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather guest feedback.
- Prepare detailed reports on event outcomes, including financial performance and guest satisfaction.
- Follow up with guests to express gratitude and encourage repeat business.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Caterease software is an asset
- Proven experience in event sales, planning and coordination, preferably in a hospitality environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong sales and marketing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A self-starter with demonstrated success in sales or business development roles.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
