Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a non-profit Company based in West Vancouver, BC. We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team for a 6-month contract. This position is full time hours, and fully in office Monday-Friday.
Your new role:
You will ensure that all aspects of the payroll cycle are processed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with union and government policies, terms and regulations. Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Processes all exception hourly earnings, benefits, and tax adjustments
- Processes changes to employee information.
- Administers changes to leave
- Tracks employee and allowance anniversary dates to make appropriate changes as required (
- Calculates overtime for all employees
- Administers unpaid leaves of absence, including benefits and maternity / parental leave top up plans
- Administers graduated return to work
- Verifies and enters leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave
- Performs bi-weekly audits of employees’ time entry
- Maintains database of schedules and coordinating renewal of agreements
- Validates information provided by HR for missing documentation
What you need to succeed:
- 2+ years of payroll experience with exposure to Canadian payroll standards
- Knowledge of payroll practices, legislation, resources and the Employment Standards Act
- Completion of Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification is an asset
- Experience with union hourly payroll environment is an asset
