Financial Reporting and Database Analyst
How does the role impact the organization?
Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a Financial Reporting and Database Analyst to work in our downtown Vancouver office.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the primary duties of this position will be creating database and associated reports using report writing software. As an Analyst, you will develop a detailed understanding of the finance databases and create reports for the finance team and management. As financial reporting deadlines and high volumes demand the ability to effectively balance varied functions, proven strengths in time management, multi-tasking and organization are necessary attributes in achieving our service goals.
What will your role be responsible for?
- Create and build ad hoc financial reports within the database environment and the accounting software package;
- Create and maintain queries for large databases;
- Create and maintain macros or scripts for systematic tasks (eg report distribution)
- Provide back-up support to other functions within the Finance Department as required;
- Process accounting entries and prepare monthly and daily analysis and reports;
- Assist with calculation and reconciliation of core accounting records
- Assist with testing and implementation of new software relating to reporting and
- Other duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you?
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience or financial database related experience;
- Financial accounting education or enrolled in an accounting program is preferred;
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science is an asset;
- Advanced skills in both Excel and Access;
- Ability to create and edit queries for relational database systems;
- Experience with Dataphile and construction of Openview queries is an asset;
- Experience with SQL or other query language is an asset;
- Experience with Visual Basic or Power query is an asset;
- A thorough knowledge of reconciliation processes;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proven time management and analytical skills;
- Superior accuracy and attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment;
- Calm and professional demeanor;
- Positive, flexible and willing to assist others as required; and
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $60,000-85,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
