Billing Support Specialist
Job Description Summary
The Billing Support Specialist is integral to supporting LifeWorks Customers and Customer Success Managers with any questions, inquiries, explanations, investigation and/or corrections related to a customer’s invoice. The Billing Support Specialist works with multiple teams and systems to identify the root cause of an incorrect invoice, as well as to make the appropriate corrections for all future invoices. In turn, this role supports a multitude of internal functions from a financial standpoint, as well as indirectly contributing to customer retention + VIP customer service and experience when working with LifeWorks.
Job Description
- Acts as a financial subject matter expert to support customers with understanding their invoices, and understands the customer’s business need in order to ensure subsequent invoices are issued correctly.
- Provides expertise in ensuring correct billing setup for a client within our internal systems, to reduce future billing issues (fee for service or retainer).
- Supports customers and CSMs with any invoice issue and resolution, including an explanation for the issue..
- Ensures all invoice corrections are documented (ie, reason/cause for error) including any impacts to revenue for the Lifeworks line of business. This data is used by Sr Leadership for customer retention and process improvement purposes
- Liaises with various internal teams including, but not limited to, Sales, Success Managers, Finance, Billing, Symphoni Onboarding, etc.. to resolve customer requests in a timely manner
- Participates in customer meetings as required to explain and resolve ongoing billing issues
- Continuous Improvement:
- Assists with special projects and other tasks, as required
- Contributes to identifying opportunities for creating efficiencies within the billing process, and collaborates across departments to identify barriers to accurate billing and to implement improvements
- Works proactively to identify and resolve root issues that may cause future invoicing issues for one or more clients.
