Job Description
The Junior Clerk III is responsible for mailroom duties, back-up for reception/switchboard, supplies ordering, and other duties as required.
Note: This is a unionized position with MoveUP, Local 378 of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union. This position is required to be fully on-site based at 115 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver.
What You’ll Do
Reception
- Provide reception/switchboard relief
- Greet and assist visitors in a courteous manner
- Answer phones in a courteous manner
- Record messages accurately
- Direct calls and respond to inquiries
- Provide information of a general nature
- Send, receive and direct couriers
Mail
- Open and sort incoming mail as received
- Distribute incoming mail
- Sort and process outgoing mail
- Prepare mass mailings as needed
- Maintain postage, supplies and maintenance on Neopost unit
Other
- Order and organize office supplies
- Order company stationery, forms and business cards as needed
- Data entry of marine overtime
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties as required
What You’ll Bring
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Computer skills with a demonstrated ability to work with computer applications such as word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software in a Windows environment.
- 55 wpm keyboard skills with high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and effectively with various groups in writing, in person and on the telephone.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain sustained attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while dealing with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to exercise initiative and contribute ideas to improving departmental operations and service to employees.
- Ability to work effectively within a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in working with employee information.
- Ability to deal professionally and confidently with vendors on possible service issues.

Pay: Starts at $4,700/month (rate increases to $5,114/month after the probation period).
This is a unionized position and pay rate for this position are set out in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The rate stated above is the starting rate for this position. It increases after the probationary period and continues to progress over the course of 12 months as per the collective agreement.
