Title: Chef
Location: REDS Adelaide
We are currently looking for a Chef for Red’s Wine Tavern! We will prepare and support you for success in this role where sales growth and success will be rewarded. You will be placed in an environment that has the highest standards and with a team that has a positive attitude and a winning mindset.
As a Chef, you consistently provide our guests with an outstanding experience, which is achieved by adhering to our standards of quality and service. As part of our Management team, you consistently provide our guests with an outstanding experience, which is achieved by adhering to our standards of quality and service. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Work alongside the Executive Chef to manage a kitchen that produces the highest standards in food quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Develop your skills under the mentorship of the Executive Chef to effectively manage daily production goals as well as food, waste, inventory, and labour cost controls.
• Order product, new stock and supplies
• Build and maintain a partnership with your team and Front of House staff
• Developing leadership, problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent use of your time management skills and attention to detail
• Ensuring your enthusiasm, infectious energy and ability spill onto other staff
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the General Manager in creating a one of a kind dining experience that combines great service with culinary quality and excellence.
• Inspire team members to be the best and continue to achieve industry wide recognition for meeting the tastes and needs of our guests.
• Help the General Manager to coach and lead our team members and help to ensure they receive great training and support.
• Learn to manage the financials, and work to achieve and exceed established goals.
• Live and teach Service Inspired Values and Promises.
• Use strong time management skills and attention to detail to complete our jobs.
• Degree or Diploma in Culinary or hospitality management is an asset.
• 5 years minimum previous kitchen management experience in a comparable restaurant environment.
• MUST have smart serve, food handlers and red seal certifications.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactivity, assertiveness, and sense of urgency in driving to reach their goals.
• Risk-taker and someone who focuses on future goals.
• Ability to operate with flexibility.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of: wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits is an asset.
• Passion for food with a background in high level hospitality.
• Previous experience with scheduling, inventory, product cost and labour control considered an asset.
