Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Coordinator, Contracts and Quality Assurance to join our team!
What You Will Do
- You will report to the Manager - Fleet, and you will be responsible for coordinating and administering the day-to-day activities associated with the issuing of procurement documents for assigned contracts associated with the Streetcar Maintenance Departments, and administering all aspects of contracts in accordance with the terms and conditions.
- You will also be responsible for developing inspection criteria and quality audit programs to measure contractor performance. This includes conducting training sessions, performing inspections during contract activities to review quality of workmanship, adherence to safety requirements, and ensuring work of the contractors conform to contract specifications.
- You will participate in a variety of activities associated with the contract tender process including award and administration of contracts relevant to Streetcar Carhouses, shop operations, engineered equipment, technical services, revenue vehicles and/or construction projects.
- You will develop, prepare and/or review terms of reference, draft scope of work/specifications, submission requirements and evaluation and weighting criteria for evaluating and comparing proposals.
- You will liaise with Materials & Procurement Department for the tendering process and awarding of contracts.
- You will also respond to bidder inquiries prior to bid closing.
- You will prepare and/or assist to prepare Commission Reports.
- Additionally, you will participate in review meetings with other TTC staff and contractors to review and evaluate proposals, also to clarify design and specification requirements.
- You will develop performance measures for contractor activities and monitoring performance.
- You will also conduct on-site visits to inspect and approve workmanship and/or process design Conducting on-site inspections to ensure contractors adhere to all TTC and legislated safety rules, regulations, policies, etc.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Your education will consist of a completed post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant experience (i.e. project management, business administration, technical field) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- An accreditation as a Certified Contract Administrator is an asset.
- Possession of a valid Truck & Coach Technician Certificate (310-T) and/or an Automotive Service Technician (310-S) is also an asset.
- Your application will reveal general knowledge of contract administration principles, practices and methods and familiarity with contract law.
- Your application will also reveal knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and air conditioning systems utilized on urban transit vehicles.
- Additionally, your application will reveal a good understanding of the applicable regulations governing the maintenance of commercial vehicles (e.g. Bill 55and applicable environmental regulations, (WHMIS, Gasoline Handling Act etc.)
- You must have strong organizational skills to deal with urgent requirements, tight deadlines and changing priorities are required.
- You must be proficient with a personal computer and applications related to the work (MS Office, IFS, etc.)
- You must also possess a valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario, class ‘G’ driver’s license.
- You must have or rapidly acquire knowledge of TTC and department policies and procedures applicable to the work performed (e.g. procurement policies and procedures, emergency plan, system safety plan, standard operating procedures).
- You must have or rapidly acquire knowledge of the collective agreements.
