Job Title: Business Analyst, Change Management & Production Support
Location: This position is hybrid and located in Mississauga, ON or Houston, TX

Job Summary:
The Business Analyst plays an integral role in our strategic and operational capability at Just Energy. The Business Analyst works as part of a service group who act as a resource base for all functional areas of the company. This in turn enables Analysts to gain exposure to many areas of Just Energy’s business and develop a broad-based experience that prepares them for a variety of other growth-oriented roles in the company. The successful candidate will need strong SQL and analytical skills, initiative, and teamwork to ensure production support issues are tended to timely and swiftly with the goal of minimizing downtime and impact to Just Energy operations and revenue. The successful candidate will have a blend of highly analytical skills, proficiency in systems with a view to full automation and soft skills to work with business partners. This role will require the Business Analysts to lead or participate in projects such as technology upgrades, system migrations, and business process improvement initiatives. Cross functionally, the position works with the Sales, Sales Operations, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations teams to coordinate and ensure assignments are executed successfully. This role is highly visible across the company and will require a driven leader to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Sales Operations, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal, IT, and Operations teams to support activities such as new product launches and sales initiatives, process automation, operational efficiencies, etc.
- Monitors, identifies, and analyzes problems for systems within Operations responsibilities
- Clearly and concisely report results to diverse audiences, including executive management
- Liaise with other Production Support Team members to resolve support calls
- Respond to any emergency situations that arise to ensure the service is restored as quickly as possible
- Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, resolve, and escalate issues as needed
- Provides on-call support as needed
- Delivers timely resolution and document troubleshooting procedures to mitigate impact of issues and improve Operations performance
- Create business requirement documents and process flows and obtain stakeholders approval
- Develop detailed approach to solve complex projects with varying degrees of direction from the planning phase to completion with special focus on creating options to address unexpected situations, managing dependencies, and creating the conditions for project acceptance by business teams
- Perform user acceptance testing, implementation, and post monitoring activities
- Perform various ad-hoc reporting, research, and analysis duties to support day-to-day operational and strategic management decisions
- Design process documentation and lead L&D to ensure new processes are transitioned to core functional teams post release
- Support incident response tasks and services restoration
- Participates in the application of system patches, security patches and third-party updates to maintain systems at a high level of performance, availability, and security
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Self-starter with the ability to take a project and think through the possibilities and details to create a strategy for analysis and resolution with little direction
- Demonstrated excellence in disciplined execution, delivering expected results on time and on budget
- High attention to detail with ability to problem solve quickly while adhering to tight deadlines required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise messages (both written and oral)
- Advanced soft skills with the ability to discuss complex and difficult issues to all levels in the organization
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to complete tasks and coordinate production support activities
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast growing and fast paced environment while consistently delivering accuracy while meeting deliverable deadlines
- Experience in managing medium to large scale projects independently
- Collaborative and committed to team success
- Adaptable, able to quickly move into new situations and build relationships
- Knowledge and experience working in Databases a plus
Years of Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in a business analysis, change management, or operations role
- Some experience of retail gas and/or electric industry experience is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PMP certification is a plus
Technology Requirements:
- Intermediate to advanced SQL and Power BI skills
- Advanced in MS Office (Word, Lucid, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
- Billing systems exposure preferred
