Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Registration, Records and Pathways, the Transfer Credit Coordinator provides technical and business expertise in support of the College’s Transfer Credit and automated transfer credit service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison with other post-secondary institutions in Ontario from which the college receives transcripts; researches grading schemes, credential levels, etc.
- Researches course acceptability and accreditation of unrecognized institutions.
- Provides information to academic areas on the acceptability of submitted transcripts (validity, authenticity and equivalency level) for transfer credits.
- Populates, updates, and manages the Banner Transfer Articulation module and related tables.
- Runs the electronic transcript upload process from OCAS and monitors the results (such as XML standard).
- Ensures XML base tables and related tables are correctly populated and receive the uploaded data with no errors.
- Reviews and amends the interface content for accuracy.
- Reviews and updates important dates and deadlines in module.
- Manages the George Brown portion of the ONTransfer database including course-to-course and program-to-program equivalencies.
- Relays information from ONTransfer and other external organizations to college areas (i.e., Academic departments, RO, Admissions).
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Three-year diploma or degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in a Registrar’s Office or a postsecondary academic environment with a minimum of three years’ experience as a team leader or as a Coordinator.
- Experience working with student information systems, preferably Banner and all related functions (i.e., Admissions, Registration and Grade Reporting.).
- Knowledge and understanding of postsecondary transfer credit and articulation principles, exposure to or experience with ONCAT, ONTransfer.
- Experience analyzing complex business and technical needs and solutions; advanced technical skills.
- Demonstrated customer service, communication skills and teaching/training experience.
- Advanced computer office skills - MS Word, Excel, Visio, and advanced level Access.

- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and ability to work independently with little or no oversight.

- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
