Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Hardscape Crew Leader and Snow Removal Operator who excels in managing hardscape projects and snow removal operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating beautiful landscapes, adept at leading and training crew members and committed to maintaining high work standards. In this role, you will oversee the installation of hardscape features, manage snow removal activities during winter and ensure all job requirements are met with precision and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardscape Duties:
- Lead a team in the design and installation of hardscape elements, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, fire and water features and outdoor living spaces.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, sketches and project specifications to guide the team in accurate execution.
- Oversee daily operations, including crew assignments, equipment maintenance and material management.
- Manage and maintain high-quality standards throughout the installation process.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, safety protocols and company standards.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project to ensure successful completion.
- Represent the Spec Plus brand by providing excellent customer service and addressing client concerns and requests with professionalism.
Snow Removal Duties:
- Operate snow removal equipment, including plows, shovels and salt spreaders to clear snow and ice from properties.
- Implement snow removal strategies to ensure safe and accessible driveways, walkways and parking areas.
- Apply salt and de-icing agents as needed to prevent ice buildup and enhance safety.
- Respond promptly to weather conditions and emergency snow removal requests.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of snow removal equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in hardscape installation with a deep understanding of materials and construction techniques.
- Previous experience in a construction or landscaping environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and training team members.
- Experience with snow removal operations and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Valid G-level driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in hardscape installation (e.g., ICPI certification or similar).
- Class A, AR Driver’s License preferred but not required.
- First aid and CPR certification.
