Duties
- Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management when supplies are low.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
- Participate in training sessions on food safety, kitchen equipment, and cooking techniques.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and knowledge of food safety standards is essential.
- Basic cooking skills and understanding of meal preparation techniques are advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
