The Surgical Artificial Intelligence Lab (SAIL) is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Project Assistant to work within the Division of Neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children. SAIL aims to develop machine learning tools to better understand neurosurgical diseases and improve patient care.
The Clinical Research Project Assistant works closely with the multidisciplinary research team on a research project focused on Multimodal Deep Learning for Medicine: Utilizing imaging, text, and clinical data for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Medical data collection, curation, and management.
- Algorithm design and development for medical image analysis, machine (deep) learning, and statistical modeling solutions for different tasks (e.g. segmentation and classification)
- Design and development of multi-modal deep learning for medicine: Utilizing imaging, text, and clinical data for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of algorithms and completeness of collected data.
- Work closely with the deployment team to integrate the newly developed algorithms into the current system.
- Preparing scientific manuscripts and reports.
Here's What You'll Need
- BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong knowledge in multimodal deep learning, including medical imaging and natural language processing (NLP) Prior related publications are a plus
- Strong scientific programming skills with Python (PyTorch)
- Excellent technical writing for scientific publications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well with a team and to use initiative in achieving goals
- Experience in research coordination, data collection and management
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
Employment Type: Full-time (FTE 1.0), 6 months contract (renewable based on funding), no benefits
