Job Description
The Clinical Care Program is currently seeking a part-time, permanent Clerk 2 to support the staffing needs of clinical units on weekends and Statutory Holidays. Reporting to the Manager and working in collaboration with the inter-professional teams, your responsibilities will include all activities related to staffing support on in-patient units - you will be required to facilitate and ensure the smooth operations of the units by coordinating staffing resources (ANSOS) based on existing models of care and including the re-assignment of staffs in consultation with the After Hours Site Administrator. You will also complete various office administrative functions including faxing, photocopying, filing and document preparation. The position requires contact, both in person and over the telephone with unit staff, After Hours Site Administrator, other partners and key stakeholders. As an often ‘first point’ of contact to the unit, the role must value and offer excellent customer service, maintain good knowledge of operations, be resourceful, and have a good understanding of scheduling systems and regulations based on union contracts. This position is located at the Queen Street Site and will provide daytime coverage on weekends and statutory holidays.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a grade 12 education and/or specialty courses combined with six months of relevant experience. You possess excellent computer skills with a proficiency in word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel and Access), database and statistical programs. Proficient correspondence skills are also required. Respect for confidential information and knowledge of privacy legislation is required. You must have excellent organizational and communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment. The ability to work with individuals of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
