The Bookkeeper position is responsible for supporting BC Federal Liberal Associations’ financial processes and compliance with Elections Canada requirements; ensuring adherence to/offering suggested improvements to a comprehensive set of internal controls; and supporting the month-end, year-end, and audit processes within the operations of the organization.

- Provide financial support and services to federal Liberal associations in BC.
- Ensure compliance with Elections Canada regulations, including accurate filings.
- Manage bank accounts, process deposits, and handle requisitions.
- Oversee expenses while adhering to Elections Canada rules and guidelines.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Director of Political Operations and relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with onsite event registrations, subsidies, and donations in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with Members of Parliament, riding executives, and other stakeholders.
- Provide support for general elections and by-elections.
- 2+ years of Bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Experience working in Quickbooks experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to deal with a wide variety of people.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Flexible schedule.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure (in the above situations) and multitask.
- Knowledge of Elections Canada regulations is an asset.
