VMA Psych is a leading mental health clinic dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families. Our team provides a range of services designed to foster emotional well-being, build resilience, and enhance family dynamics. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Child and Youth Care Worker (CYC) to join our team, supporting clients both in our clinic and during at-home visits.
Job Responsibilities
As a Youth Worker, you will:
- Work directly with children, youth, and families to implement emotional regulation strategies, behavioural interventions, and routines tailored to each client’s needs.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to develop and reinforce practical strategies for emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Conduct at-home visits to assess family dynamics, implement interventions, and provide hands-on support.
- Support clients in managing emotions, building coping skills, and improving interpersonal relationships.
- Maintain detailed session notes and progress reports in compliance with clinic policies.
- Liaise with clinicians and other professionals to ensure integrated care.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care (CYC), Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field with youth and families, in clinical or community settings.
- Strong understanding of emotional regulation strategies and behavioral interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (required for at-home visits).
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hire).
