Here's what you'll be doing....
You’ll execute marketing strategies across UTP product types, imprints and titles, supporting overall goals and strategic objectives to enhance brand recognition, reputation and revenue.
- For this position, we currently have the option of working totally in the office, or in a hybrid model. However, this position may initially require some in-office time mixed with work from home during the onboarding phase.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Organize conference exhibits and events annually, including securing space, furniture, shipping, marketing materials, products for display, and other materials as needed
- Maintain and update the conference grid for the Publishing Division, with dates, costs, sales, and other relevant data
- Maintain and update events calendar, with dates, times, locations, featured speakers and topics. Attend and support local events, as needed
- Coordinate books for awards annually, including researching appropriate awards, submitting applications, sending out complimentary copies for review, documenting results of the application, and communicating results
- Coordinate journal and media reviews by researching appropriate journals and media outlets, sending out complimentary copies for review, documenting the publication of reviews, and communicating the publication of reviews
- Maintain and update database of relevant journals and media outlets by subject area, documenting coverage of UTP titles
- Maintain and update indexing for UTP titles, with a particular focus on mission-critical databases, including Medline, PubMed Central, Scopus, Web of Science, EMBASE; indexing includes maintaining and updating indexing grid, submitting applications for relevant titles, coordinating access for applications review, documenting and communicating results
- Submit titles to relevant opportunities for special promotion, as needed
- Contribute to communications and media relations for UTP published products, such as by drafting press releases and sending out Advance Reading Copies / NetGalley digital review copies
- Contribute to effective author experience (AX) marketing strategies, including strategies to drive author recruitment
- Contribute data to marketing key performance indicators and metrics
- Build and maintain effective relationships, and work closely with key internal stakeholders and departments, such as sales, production, distribution, and editorial teams
- Keep abreast of changing market conditions relating to products, promotion and technology with a particular focus on leveraging technology solutions to enhance marketing objectives

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Post-secondary graduate, or equivalent combination education/experience
- 2+ years marketing experience in publishing or related environment
