Job Description
The Linux Foundation is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Integrated Marketing Programs Specialist to join our growth marketing team. In this role, you will oversee and manage the execution of marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and the adoption of Linux Foundation open source projects and associated technologies. Reporting to the VP of Growth Marketing, you will be a key contributor, partnering closely with your colleagues on the marketing, project, event, and education teams. It will be your responsibility to create impactful campaigns that resonate with the open source community, including developers, member organizations, and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Campaign Strategy: Develop, implement, and manage multi-channel marketing programs tailored to defined target personas, focusing on measurable outcomes such as awareness, lead generation, and engagement.
- Project Launch Planning & Coordination: Develop and execute detailed launch plans for new projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. Act as the primary point of contact for launch-related updates and oversee post-launch performance analyses.
- Content & Coordination: Collaborate with content creators, designers, and distribution teams to produce and amplify compelling, relevant content (blog posts, social media, email newsletters, videos) that supports campaign objectives.
- Community Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with the open-source community, including maintainers, contributors, and influencers, through campaigns, webinars, and events.
- Data & Analytics: Track campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and generate reports to assess effectiveness and improve future strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (marketing, events, education, projects) to ensure campaigns align with organization and foundation goals.
- Brand Awareness & Advocacy: Position the Linux Foundation and our hosted projects as a thought leader in the open-source space by identifying opportunities for media coverage, partnerships, and influencer collaborations.
- Event Planning & Management: Partner closely with our events team to help organize and promote conferences, events, webinars, hackathons, and virtual meetups to drive engagement.
- Budget Management: Oversee campaign budgets, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Integrated Marketing Programs Specialist or similar marketing role, preferably in the tech, open source, or software industry.
- Exceptional project management skills and a power user of tools like Asana, Trello, Wrike, etc.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Experience managing project or campaign launches with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with modern marketing practices, including Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and customer journey mapping.
- Experience with digital marketing channels including social media, email, SEO, and paid media.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools, CRMs, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.).
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze campaign performance and make data-backed decisions.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a remote-first environment.
- A creative, proactive, and results-oriented approach to campaign management.
- Experience with community-driven events, meetups, or hackathons.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools or basic video editing is an advantage.
- Strong understanding and passion for open source culture and communities is a bonus.
