Area Of Responsibility
Reporting to the Director’s office, this position will assist with the implementation of special projects and support key business initiatives for Facilities Operations and Maintenance (FOM).
Exercise judgement to resolve matters which may be political and sensitive in nature. Assisting with projects from its inception to execution while translating corporate initiatives into project plans,
continuous and effective research, collaborating with stakeholders and providing their recommendations to the leadership team. The student will assist and support project management efforts by
working with the Director’s office alongside working with the FOM Leadership team.

(FM) Manager and Supervisors.
- Provide insights and ideas on, as well as design and participate in, Public Works and Engineering project working groups.
- Participate in meetings, working groups and teams, as a FOM representative, in the development and implementation of projects for the department while ensuring projects achieve the corporate objectives.
- Perform qualitative and/or quantitative research, analysis, and evaluation of data to assist with synthesizing information, producing reports and/or identifying trends (e.g. develop summaries, options, recommendations, etc.).
- Identify and facilitate resolution of issues related to project development, progress, and implementation. Analyze and present status to the supervisor.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships for project implementation and success outcomes.
- Provide administrative and consultative support to corporate committees.
- Assist with the development of project outlines, descriptions and implementation plans to support departmental initiatives.
- Research best practices and develop project plan for identified projects to ensure milestones and targets are achieved.
- Prepares reports and updates to senior management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
EDUCATION:
- Enrollment in post-secondary studies, preferably in Planning, Political Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or similar equivalent program. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to job offer.
