Our client is a leader in global animal health. They are looking for a full-time Bilingual Diagnostic Sales Specialist to join their team based in Eastern Canada. This role requires 30 – 50% travel within the designated sales territory.
The Diagnostic Sales Specialist acts as a consultant to veterinary practice stakeholders, building tailored in-house diagnostic solutions using our client’s line of products. They are responsible for selling instruments in veterinary practices, research centers, and government institutions within their territory.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with territory managers, diagnostic account managers, and strategic account managers to generate leads and secure new business. They ensure a seamless and professional pre-sale and sale experience, aligning with our client’s core beliefs.
The Diagnostic Sales Specialist uses strategic thinking and market trend analysis to boost diagnostic equipment sales in high-revenue accounts. Proficient in all aspects of the sales cycle and solution selling, they work to gain and retain business, increase analyzer placements, and drive consumable use. Additionally, they manage the opportunity pipeline from prospect to customer status, ensuring quick and effective lead conversion and long-term customer satisfaction.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Engaging in prospecting efforts and using a consultative approach to tailor solution-centric proposals that meet customer needs.
- Overseeing the full sales cycle of diagnostic equipment, from generating leads to closing business.
- Negotiating agreements aligned with our client’s commercial offers and tailoring them to customers’ needs.
- Maintaining a high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing, competition, and market trends.
- Developing mutually beneficial and productive long-term partnerships with key customers to foster loyalty and trust.
- Renewing contracts with existing diagnostics customers to maintain continuity and satisfaction.
- Conducting periodical business reviews to assess performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and reinforce customer relationships.
- Amending existing contracts as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and address evolving needs.
- Collaborating with colleagues within diagnostics and from other business units and/or functions, such as companion animal, livestock, technical support, and veterinary services, to enhance overall customer experience and resource utilization.
- Efficiently processing new contracts to ensure timely and accurate onboarding of new customers and uphold high standards of business conduct and compliance to maintain integrity and trust within the industry.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual: full proficiency in English and French, required
- Ability and willingness to travel 30-50% of the time within Eastern Canada
- Bachelor’s Degree required; a scientific or business discipline strongly preferred.
- Veterinary, nursing, laboratory and/or medical background, preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in related field. Background in sales mandatory.
- Experience in B2B sales in a corporate environment, diagnostics, marketing, medical devices, capital equipment sales or contractual sales required.
- Action-oriented, strategic and growth mindset, and passion for excellence.
- Excellent presentation and conversational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Solid business acumen and financial analysis skills, including the ability to manage efficiently expenses and budgets.
- Strong medical understanding.
- Ability to work well under short deadlines to meet targets.
