This position is available for part-time employment with the Primary Reserve at HMCS CABOT in St John's NL. Reserve Force members usually serve part time at a UNIT near their community, and may serve while going to school or working at a civilian job. They are paid during their training. They are not posted or required to do a military move. However, they can volunteer to move to another base. They may also volunteer for deployment on a military mission within or outside Canada. A Career with the Reserves: As a reservist, the choice to go is always voluntary. The main role of the Reserve Force is to support the Regular Force at home and abroad. Naval Warfare Officer Qualifications: A successful candidate must:
- be a Canadian Citizen
- be 16 years of age or older (with parental or guardian consent if under 18)
- meet Canadian Armed Forces medical standards
- must have or be working towards any Baccalaureate degree
- successfully complete selection process, interview and examinations
- pass physical fitness tests
