We are currently seeking a Junior Designer who will report directly to the Senior Designer and is responsible for preparing shop drawings and assisting in coordinating project details.
Requirements Summary:
- You have at least 2 years of experience in designing and assisting in selling kitchens and other custom millwork
- You are comfortable with client interactions and can meet clients with the Senior Designers and Vice President or if needed by yourself
- You are organized. You take notes during the meetings and follow up with the Senior team members and clients to ensure project due dates are met.
- You are passionate about design and helping clients.
Knowledge & Experience
- Proficiency in English language is a must
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Proven work experience as a Designer or similar role
- Experience with meeting clients
- Post-secondary education in Computer Aided Drafting / Design
- Experience and/or knowledge of Kitchen Cabinetry is required.
- Basics of Project Management to proactively understand the needs of a client.
- Proficient in reading and understanding architectural drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in MS Office programs.

- Able to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a multitude of tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines
- Ability to assess workload, prioritize tasks, communicate with Senior Designer about design status, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and an ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Interprets and carries out creative ideas proposed by Senior Designer
- Follow company standards and procedures including reviewing and revising drawings.
- Participate in Design meetings, prepare and discuss notes with Senior Designer. Follow up directly with clients and if needed meet the clients directly.
- Work with Senior Designer to resolve design problems, discuss project criteria, and facilitate smooth project coordination.
- Convert Designer Millwork Elevations into Shop Drawings & Layouts
