About The Role:
We are looking for a Carbon Market Coordinator to support our Director, Carbon Strategy in shaping and delivering veritree's carbon market business. This position is perfect for someone highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a deep interest in climate solutions, carbon markets, and pioneering new business models.
In this role, you will develop offset projects, source and integrate high-quality carbon credits, forge strategic partnerships, and enhance veritree's technology to advance our position in the carbon market.
Key outcomes for this role in the next 12 months include:
- Establish a strong and scalable offset sales program to drive growth and impact
- Develop and implement veritree's cutting-edge field-based and remote sensing technology solutions
- Secure funding and initiate our Kenya Mangrove Offset Project, ensuring successful early-stage execution
- Launch and advance our Indigenous Forest Restoration Projects, setting them up for long-term success
This position will be based in Vancouver, Canada and travel may occasionally be required.
What will you be doing?
Offset Sales Program Development
- You will identify and execute opportunities to secure a supply of high-quality forest carbon offsets on favorable terms for sale to veritree partners
- You will collaborate with the veritree sales team to develop and deliver a comprehensive carbon offset sales program
Project Support and Development
- You will assist in the development of carbon offset initiatives, including blue carbon, forestry, and other nature-based solutions
- You will support early-stage feasibility assessments, financial modeling, and strategic evaluations of potential projects
- You will coordinate closely with partners and project developers to ensure alignment with veritree's strategic objectives
- You will work alongside the Director, Carbon Strategy to build and maintain strong relationships with carbon project developers, certification bodies, and key stakeholders
- You will contribute to negotiations and assist in drafting contracts for carbon credit procurement and integration
Technology and Data Integration
- You will collaborate with the technology team to refine veritree's carbon tracking and reporting tools
- You will provide insights to optimize veritree's technology stack for enhanced carbon market integration and transparency
Strategic Planning and Communication
- You will assist in drafting strategic documents, including sales materials, partnership proposals, and internal briefs
- You will prepare presentations and support materials for executive leadership and external stakeholders
Requirements
Professional Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in carbon markets, environmental finance, sustainability consulting, or a related domain
- Solid understanding of carbon markets, offset methodologies, and standards (e.g., VERRA, Gold Standard)
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and developing business cases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations and reports
- Familiarity with blockchain, geospatial technologies, or MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) tools is a plus

A typical hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 CAD per year with the final salary offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
