Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Teacher Assistant Intern with a patient care background to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in the educational field, while leveraging their healthcare expertise.
After a 4-week probation period, there is a possibility to convert the internship into a contract position based on performance. As a Teacher Assistant Intern, you will work closely with educators to support classroom activities, assist in course preparation, and provide academic and emotional support to students.
Your healthcare background will be valuable in addressing health-related concerns and ensuring the well-being of students, particularly in programs with healthcare-focused curricula. For example, you may assist in programs like the Phlebotomy Micro-Credential Program, intra-muscular injection, wound care, IV therapy, helping students understand both the technical skills and the best practices related to healthcare professions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with daily classroom activities, lesson planning, and student engagement.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students in various subjects, particularly in healthcare-focused programs such as Phlebotomy, Wound Care Management etc
- Support the setup, organization, and preparation of course materials, including practical healthcare training tools and resources.
- Support in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and healthy learning environment.
- Advising students about the program
- Any other duties as assigned by the campus administrator
Qualifications:
- A background in patient care.
- Interest in transitioning into the education field, particularly in healthcare-related programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and staff.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
- Ability to handle basic medical concerns or emergencies in an educational setting.
- Open to weekend and evening shifts as needed.
