Metrie is hiring for a Sanitation Worker/ Plant Utility in Woodbridge, ON! (Fri to Sun, Morning Shift 6 AM to 6 PM)

Available Shifts: Friday to Sunday, 6 AM to 6 PM
Responsibilities:
- Keep plant clean and organized at all times
- Daily operation and maintenance of the Tennant floor cleaner
- Plant tasks (hog scrap carts, sweep floors, general cleaning, etc.)
- Outside yard maintenance (garbage removal, loading dock clean-up, general organization, snow removal of emergency exits)
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervision/management
Safety Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply all safety policies and regulations (5 Steps to a Safe Day)
- Be trained and competent in Job Hazards (JH) as per the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA)
- Follow all mandatory lockout procedures within the department
- Demonstrate leadership in accident prevention through LPA reporting
- Conduct S.S.A’s as per scheduled requirements
- Have full knowledge of machine operating procedures as per SOPs and hazard assessments
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, bending forwards
- Constant standing and occasional sitting
- Lifting from floor to waist, waist to floor
- Frequent when relocating production carts, prepping dunnage materials
- Hand to Eye Coordination, picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation
Qualification:
- Prior experience in plant utility/ maintenance and cleaning job will be preferred.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
